Our Founder’s Story

This brand was built on more than just passion — it was built on purpose.

Founded by a proud Black father, author, creative visionary, and dedicated STEM advocate, his story is rooted in resilience and inspiration. Growing up on the vibrant yet challenging streets of Chicago’s South Side, our founder’s journey reflects the strength and brilliance we strive to nurture in today’s youth. Raised in poverty, he faced the harsh realities of systemic inequality and, at one point, incarceration. After turning his life around and entering the corporate world, he encountered new forms of discrimination and exclusion.

Despite the challenges, he rose — driven by a deep desire to rewrite the narrative, not just for himself, but for every child who has ever been told they don’t belong and are not good enough.

That fire became a mission: to create books, games, and learning tools that represent urban black culture and equip kids with more than just academic skills — but the mindset to dream big, think critically, and move through the world with pride and purpose.
